THE COMPUTER ZONE
The
Workforce 2000 Computer Zone
provides computer and Internet training to individuals, small
businesses, and the non-profit community. Training workshops focus
on small business applications, desk-top publishing, web page
design, Internet technologies, computer basics, word processing,
job hunting on the Internet, cover letters and resume production.
CONSTANCE CLAYTON HEALTH ACADEMY (CCHA)
A
year round education and training program at William Penn High
School to prepare youth for careers in the health industry. A
collaborative between Allegheny University of the Health Sciences,
the School District of Philadelphia, The Philadelphia High School
Academies, Inc., Workforce 2000 and State Representative W. Curtis
Thomas, CCHA provides education and job readiness services to
250 youth a year.

HEALTHY START PEER POWER
MALE PREGNANCY PREVENTION PROGRAM (MPP)
The Healthy Start Program is a pregnancy prevention program for
adolescent males. Targeted to the West Philadelphia Community,
MPP serves 40 young men a year providing guidance in personal
development and education.
SHOOT FOR THE STARS (SFTS)
A
year-round career awareness and peer leadership program, SFTS
consists of weekly in-school workshops, monthly peer leadership
weekend workshops and a summer work experience program. Targeted
to students living in West Philadelphia, this program was implemented
in six (6) schools (West Philadelphia, Overbrook and University
City High Schools, and Sayre, Sulzberger and Shoemaker Middle
Schools) and served 300 students a year over a 6 year period.
